Paris, July 2, 2025 – The Unlimitail x Rakuten France partnership has been awarded the silver trophy at the 2025 Trophées E-commerce in the “Data, Personalization and retail media campaign” category. This recognition celebrates the Unlimitail x Rakuten France partnership’s ability to leverage Rakuten’s proprietary data to deliver tailored, high-impact campaigns across multiple touchpoints.
The winning campaign, developed for the needs of a leading printer brand, was one of the first unified activations combining onsite and offsite media within the Rakuten advertising ecosystem. The objective was a twofold: designed to recruit new customers in the “printers and consumables buyers” segment and drive final performance on a specific product range. It ran from September to December 2024 and delivered powerful results.
Focus on offsite powered by Rakuten France’s data
The offsite strategy targeted affinity audiences across the open web with a strong likelihood to purchase or repurchase printers and consumables. The result: over 12 million impressions delivered and 70% of buyers were new to the brand, whether they were first-time buyers or inactive customers returning after more than 6 months. The co-branded banners were designed to drive traffic directly to Rakuten’s site, on the product pages of the range concerned by the campaign.
Onsite reinforcement to maximize conversion
In parallel, the onsite component ensured continuous brand visibility at key touchpoints along the user journey on Rakuten’s site: search pages, category pages, product pages related to the category, and the “My Account” space. This component delivered strong results across the campaign, particularly on product pages and search.
Strong insights, measurable impact
One of the key learnings from this campaign was the low overlap rate between offsite and onsite audiences, demonstrating the complementarity of both approaches. This full-funnel vision enabled the deployment of a relevant scenario, first prioritizing traffic acquisition. 70% of sales attributed to offsite came from a “new-to-brand” audience. Onsite then helped support conversion closer to the moment of purchase.

The jury, composed of six professionals from the e-commerce and digital marketing sectors, praised both the innovation and precise execution of the campaign, highlighting the technical rigor deployed by Unlimitail, the granularity of measurement, and the performance achieved.
